The application process

1. GET IN TOUCH
When you know what subject you want to study, contact us to get a complete list of the courses available in that subject.

Please tell us what level you want to study at (university or college, undergraduate or postgraduate) and what
   qualifications you hold to date. If there’s anything else on your wish list, this is the time to tell us about it. Are you interested in one university in particular? Do you want to be in a particular city? Near the beach? Near the mountains?

2. RESEARCH YOUR OPTIONS
We send you a list of courses. This will include weblinks to each course’s content and structure as well as details of its tuition fees, entry requirements and application deadlines.

Go through the list carefully – look at each university website, contact us for prospectuses, ask us as many questions as you like – it’s vital you are as well informed as possible about your choice. Study Options offers free, expert advice to help you decide which universities and courses are best for you, so just contact us by phone, email or come in to the office to talk through your options.

3. GET APPLICATION FORMS
Once you've decided which courses and universities to apply to, let us know and we’ll send you the application form(s) and a detailed guide to applying, which will include a checklist of the supporting documents needed.

4. MAKING AN APPLICATION
Send the completed applications and supporting documents to our office in London. We check them to make sure everything is correct and complete. If you have asked us to certify academic documents for you, we’ll do that too and     return the originals to you by recorded delivery. Then we send the applications to the universities for assessment.

5. WAIT FOR AN ANSWER...
… though this isn’t as bad as it could be. Applications made through Study Options are fast-tracked through the university assessment processes so you’ll get an answer more quickly than if you’d applied directly. Plus, if at any point you want to know what’s going on with your application, just email or phone us and we’ll find out for you.

6. THE DECISION
As soon as we are notified of the outcome of your application, we’ll contact you. If you have, we’ll send you your letter of offer and a guide to what happens next. This will include guidance through the process of accepting your place, and   details of how to apply for a student visa for Australia.

7. GETTING READY TO GO
Once the university application process is complete, we offer assistance with applying for your student visa, arranging university accommodation, and anything else that you need to organise before you go. 

You then get your student visa, and follow the advice and instructions in the university or college’s pre-departure pack carefully regarding arriving in time for orientation (again, feel free to contact us with any questions here), practice throwing various things on the ‘barbie’, start referring to flip-flops as ‘jandals’ (New Zealand) or 'thongs' (Australia) and organise   your big farewell party… 

8. Arrive at your chosen university or college in Australia or New Zealand!
