Making an Application
Follow this simple, step-by-step guide for a stress-free application experience
1. THINK CAREFULLY. IS THIS FOR YOU?
Have a good look around this site and, particularly if you haven’t been to Australia or New Zealand before, do some general research about the country. Have a good think – is studying in Australia or New Zealand a possibility for you?
2. GET IN TOUCH
Click here to contact Study Options and discuss your situation. Everyone’s different, and it’s really important for us to understand what you’re looking for from a course of study before we can give you advice on what’s available. So give us a call, drop us an email, or make an appointment to come to the offices in person. Once we’ve got a better idea of what you want to study, and what location would suit you best, we’ll give you a list of courses and collewwges to consider.
3. RESEARCH YOUR OPTIONS
Your list of possible courses and colleges will include details of each course as well as details of what it costs, when it starts and what (if any) qualifications you’ll need to apply. Go through the list carefully, and feel free to discuss your options with one of the Study Options team any time you like. Please ask us as many questions as you need when choosing a course. We offer free, expert advice to help you decide.
4. GET AN APPLICATION FORM
Once you’ve decided which course and college to apply to, let us know and we’ll send you the application form and a step-by-step guide to making an application.
5. MAKING AN APPLICATION
Send your application and any other documents required (for example, some colleges will need to see a copy of your CV) to Study Options. We check to make sure everything is correct and complete. If you have asked us to certify any documents, we’ll do that at this point too, and return the originals to you by recorded delivery. Then we send the application to the college for assessment via email.
6. THE DECISION
It usually takes about two weeks for the college to make a decision. As soon as we’re told what that is, we will contact you to let you know. If you have been given an offer by the college, we will send through your letter of offer and a guide to what happens next. This guide includes instructions on how to accept your place, as well as details of how to go about applying for a student visa for Australia or New Zealand.
7. GETTING READY TO GO
Once you have accepted your place and the college application process is complete, we offer assistance with applying for your student visa and anything else that you need to organise before you go.
8. FINAL PREPARATIONS
Follow the advice and instructions in the college’s pre-departure pack carefully regarding arriving in time for orientation (again, feel free to contact us with any questions here), practice throwing various things on the ‘barbie’, start referring to flip-flops as ‘thongs’ and organise your big farewell party…
9. Arrive at your chosen college in Australia or New Zealand!
