Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (SCIT) is located in the heart of Queensland’s fastest growing region. The Sunshine Coast is a naturally beautiful area, famous for its sandy beaches, glorious rainforests and rolling surf. This cosmopolitan corner of South East Queensland offers great opportunities for quality training and an active, healthy lifestyle.
Sunshine Coast TAFE is the largest provider of vocational education and training business services in the area. It has expanded from its beginnings in the late 1980s to now encompass four major campuses across the Sunshine Coast, and typically enrols more than 13,000 students each year.
SCIT has an wide registration of courses and has expertise and experience in vocational training across a range of areas including business services, community services, construction, creative industries, engineering, general education and applied sciences, health and sport, and hospitality and retail, with extensive and established networks involving government, corporate and community groups.
Teaching staff are passionate, focused and creative individuals – all with industry training. Their real life experiences ensure SCIT programmes are industry relevant.
SCIT puts great investment into its facilities – utilising the latest technology to provide cutting edge equipment and machinery to make sure that the training prepares the student for working in today’s fast paced, changing environment.
There are over 200 international students from over 40 countries currently studying at Sunshine Coast TAFE. They have chosen quality education and training with pathways to university and great support services.
Our students can also enjoy their leisure time, taking advantage of the excellent facilities that provide students with a real work environment such as the Institute’s restaurant and bistro, gymnasium, hair and beauty salons, libraries and resource centres.
We prides ourselves on helping students get the most out of their learning experience and offer a range of support services including personal counselling, career and course counselling and support and information. Accommodation is available, close to each campus, including backpacker hostels, apartments, townhouses, houses or homestay with local families.
In terms of costs of living, Australia offers excellent value for money. On average, you need A$20,000 to A$25,000 a year to live comfortably on the Sunshine Coast.
