Study in Australia

Southbank Institute of Technology

Southbank Institute of Technology is the largest Government learning institute in Queensland and the third largest institute in Australia. Established in 1863, it now has over 29,600 enrolled students, including over 2,200 international students.

Many of the Institutes diplomas have links with bachelors degrees at Queensland universities and so form a pathway to further study. For students whose eventual aim is to gain a university degree, Southbank’s diplomas provide unrivalled access to leading universities in the state, including Griffith University, the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australian Catholic University, and QUT (Queensland University of Technology).

Southbank Institute’s academic faculty is drawn from industry and supported by industry specialists. Our teachers regularly return to work in their industry to ensure they remain up-to-date with the latest techniques and knowledge in their field.

Southbank’s modern training facilities give students ‘real world’ work experience in purpose-built classrooms and laboratories. The campus recently underwent a $250million redevelopment, and is located just a short walk from Brisbane’s central business district.
