Study in Australia

Clipjoint Education

Clip Joint was established over 40 years ago and our Education Centre has been operating as a Registered Training Organisation for more than 20 years. As the longest running international hairdressing school in South Australia, we are extremely proud of the high quality, fashion forward education we provide to students. We are always thrilled to hear from salon owners who have employed our students, raving about their creativity and attention to detail, or invitations from former students to attend their salon opening parties!

With our 11 spacious training rooms, light-filled photographic studio and passionate teachers who also work as stylists, Clip Joint Education is the ideal place to start your hairdressing career. Located in the heart of Adelaide, we are within easy reach of all suburbs via the city’s great public transport network. Our CBD location means an abundance of live models, as well as being in walking distance of Rundle Mall, great shops, gourmet food, the Adelaide Art Gallery and Museum and many top salons.

Clip Joint is proud of its strong relationship with the hairdressing industry in South Australia. Many salons send their apprentices to Clip Joint for their advanced training, and many contact us seeking to employ our students.

The international student programme at Clip Joint enables students to gain paid employment as qualified hairdressers during their second year of study, provided their student visas permit.

As a recognised creative leader, Clip Joint is often sought after for stage work for seminars, forums, workshops, session styling, and advanced training both nationally and internationally.

At Clip Joint we mix local and international students, enabling them to enrich their cultural and social experience. International students often say one of the best things about the academy is the friends they have made, and how quickly those friends help them feel comfortable in their new city.

Michelle Anderson, who joined Clip Joint as a mature student from the UK, is now enjoying a new job as a qualified stylist with Fringe Benefit Salon. “I found the teachers at Clip Joint so enthusiastic and friendly,” says Michelle. “There are students of all ages and nationalities studying at Clip Joint, which made me feel comfortable straightaway. The training I received gave me the confidence to find a job as a qualified hairdresser while I finished my second year studies”.
