IT Faculty at Monash opens flagship work-based learning scheme to international students

From 2014 the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash will open its prestigious Industry Based Learning Programme to international students. The scheme, which has been running for Australian students for over 20 years, offers students the chance to undertake a placement at one of the University’s industry partners. Industry partners include Google, Ernst & Young, Oxfam, ANZ, Accenture and IBM.

The placements are 22 weeks long and give participants and invaluable opportunity to gain real-world experience. They are formally assessed, and credited toward all the Faculty’s undergraduate degrees.

Students selected to take part in a placement will find themselves immersed in areas such as IT consulting, business analysis, business advisory and assurance, project management, software development, security and forensics.

Students on each 22 week placement receive a AU$15,000 scholarship for participating in the programme.
