Over 200 successful startups at UNSW in 24 months

StartUpSmart, an Australian news and advice site for start-up businesses, recently reported that students and recent alumni from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) have launched over 200 new businesses in the last 24 months.

The website reports that UNSW have encouraged, supported and championed over 200 new start-up projects led by students or recent alumni – certainly more than any other 2 year period in the history of UNSW.

UNSW’s International Education department has been working to support any students interested in creating a start-up, introducing students to a network of mentors service providers and useful organisations that can act as a sounding board for their ideas.  Interaction across the wider community is actively encouraged so that students can learn from and work with other students facing similar challenges.  Contributing to the success of the UNSW start-ups was a social media group that enables entrepreneurial students to communicate, interact and also support each other through wins and challenges.
