New courses at Murdoch University for postgraduates

Murdoch University have announced five new postgraduate programmes to commence in 2015.

Master of Teaching (Primary) – This two year master degree offers a professional preparation for graduates who would like to move into primary level teaching or a wide range of other careers with an education focus.  The course is taught in Perth and incorporates professional internships to give you valuable work experience.

Master of Food Security - Long-term vision and strategies are required to ensure that present and future generations will have on going food security, achieved in ways that do not damage ecological systems.  In this one-year master degree, students will investigate the concept of producing, protecting and providing food, to ensure sustainable food production for present and future generations.

Master of Wildlife Health and Conservation – This one-year programme aims to provide graduates of biology, ecology, and environmental science with applied training in veterinary aspects of wildlife health that can be incorporated into conservation and global health programs. This includes the practical and theoretical research skills to work in the area.

Master of Protected Area Management - The Master of Protected Area Management is a one-year programme that provides up-to-date, globally relevant skills and knowledge, for protected area managers in policy and management. Areas of particular focus include working with biodiversity and people across landscapes, management effectiveness of protected areas, environmental policy design, and collaborative governance, especially with Indigenous communities.

Master of Applied Psychology (Professional) - This course consists of one year of full-time study. Its objective is to prepare psychologists who are skilled in individual casework and can apply their skills and knowledge to prevention, research, development, and evaluation at the individual and system levels. As this is a professional qualification, you will need to have your bachelor degree in psychology assessed by the Australian Psychological Society before applying for the course.  Find out more about transferring your qualification on this page.
