Sydney a top-ten University for employability according to QS rankings
Graduates from the University of Sydney are the most employable in Australia and in the top 4 most sought after worldwide, according to the 2017 QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
Sydney was ranked fourth by QS, outplacing the University of Cambridge (5), Columbia University (7) and University of Oxford (8).
The QS Graduate Employability Rankings is an annual ranking of universities around the world, celebrating institutions, which are committed to and effective in preparing students for the workplace. First published as a pilot edition in 2015, the ranking now features 300 institutions, providing the world’s students with a unique tool by which to compare university performance in this area. Each institution’s total score is compiled based on the following five indicators.
- Employer reputation
- Alumni outcomes
- Employer partnerships
- Employer-student concessions
- Graduate employment rate
Australian universities have performed well in the 2017 Graduate Employability Rankings overall - the University of Melbourne ranked joint eleventh. The Australian National University (ANU) and Monash University made the global top 50 while University of Queensland (UQ), RMIT and University of Western Australia (UWA) ranked in the top 100.
