AUT

AUT traces its roots back to 1895 as the country's leading Institute of Technology. This year we celebrated ten years as a university and are now New Zealand's third largest and fastest growing university.

The University's teaching, research and community work integrates the most contemporary thinking and is focused on fields within the applied humanities; business and law; design and creative technologies; health and environmental sciences; and Maori studies. Many courses involve a cooperative education component, where students join a commercial enterprise for a semester and apply their academic knowledge in the real world.

AUT prides itself on its lecturer-to-student ratios, its comprehensive student support services and its on-campus facilities.

LOCATION
AUT University is in Auckland, New Zealand, with three well-positioned campuses - one in the central city, one on the North Shore (across the Auckland Harbour Bridge) and one in Manukau, South Auckland. Auckland is ranked fourth equal in the world's top cities and one of the most economical to live and work in, according to the Mercers 2010 Quality of Living Survey. The city is in the north of the North Island and is the largest and most culturally diverse of New Zealand's cities, with a population of more than 1.2 million people, 27% of whom were born in other countries.
