Alex Ward is at JCU studying a Bachelor of Business in Marketing

“Choosing a university is never easy, but especially when you’re so far away from the place itself! I initially applied to JCU because of the courses that it offered. Enrolling at JCU was more than just a uni choice through, it was about lifestyle. Moving from the cold to a tropical paradise to study was a dream come true. When I got here I found it to be a relaxed, friendly environment – the international centre held your hand as little or as much as you needed. The staff are great, I love the fact that you’re able to knock on a lecturer’s door and see them straightaway. I chose to do one semester in Townsville and then move to Cairns, but I love Townsville and have made lots of friends here – it’s home.”
