Griffith University confirms 20 new places to study Medicine and Dentistry - available for next intake
Griffith University has today confirmed the release of 20 new places for international students to study Medicine and Dentistry for the next academic intake. Semester 1, 2011 will start in February 2011.
The University, which has campuses in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast in Queensland, offers a structured pathway for school-leaving students to progress on to its Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery programme. Students enrol on the Bachelor of Medical Science for two years. Subject to them achieving a minimum GPA of 5.0, and a grade pass in a designated course 'Human Skills For Medicine' they will then progress on to the four year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.
Entry requirements for the Bachelor of Medical Science are 14 points at A-level, where A = 5 points, B = 4 points, C = 3 points, D = 2 points and E = 1 point.
The University has also confirmed the release of additional places for students wanting to train as dentists. Students are required to enrol on the Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science (3 years) followed by the two year Graduate Diploma of Dentistry in order to qualify and register as a dentist.
Entry requirements for the Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science are also 14 points at A-level. The A-Levels must include at least one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics.
