Scholarships announced for PhD study at the University of Newcastle - Apply by August 31st

The University of Newcastle have recently announced over 50 university scholarships for international PhD candidates.  The generous scholarships include:

  • Living allowance of AU$24,653 per annum
  • Relocation and establishment allowance of up to AU$2,020
  • Tuition fees
  • Overseas student health cover

To be eligible for one of these scholarships you should have submitted your research proposal to a suitable supervisor at the university before 31st August 2013.

Successful scholarship candidates usually have:

  • An IELTS of at least 6.5
  • Honours class one or equivalent
  • An outstanding Grade Point average
  • A master degree with strong research component
  • International peer reviewed research publication or research experience
