New Biomedical Learning and Teaching Building at Monash University

A brand new biomedical learning and teaching building is soon to open at Monash University. Students on Monash’s Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Master of Biomedical and Health Science and Master of Biotechnology will be able to make use of the innovative teaching space from 2019.

The building is specifically designed to train the next generation of biomedical scientists. With a focus on research-led teaching and access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, students can gain the technical skills needed for their future careers. The new interactive classrooms and small learning centres encourage students to work in teams – a skill essential in the modern workplace.

Key features:

  • Five floors solely dedicated to biomedical science
  • Flexible wet and dry teaching laboratories across four levels
  • Informal teaching spaces and private study areas for individual study and small group work
  • A virtual reality learning stage and interactive Sectra tables for unique visualisation experiences.

The building is an important addition to the thriving new Discovery hub at Monash University where researchers are making critical breakthroughs in global health using some of the world’s best technology.
