How did your Australian qualification help you get to where you are in your career? I graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Master of Art Curatorship in 2013. The course included an internship, which was a great way of making connections within the Melbourne art community that are still continuing today.

Before moving to Melbourne, I completed a BA in International Business Studies in my hometown Munich, and a Graduate Diploma in Modern and Contemporary Art History at Christie’s Education London. After working for a commercial contemporary art gallery in London for a few years, The Master of Art Curatorship was an opportunity for me to deepen my theoretical and historical knowledge about collecting, interpreting and exhibiting art. It was a privilege to study at The University of Melbourne’s beautiful campus and get to know the city’s vibrant art scene.

After graduating, I moved back to Germany worked as the Gallery Manager at Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi in Berlin from 2014 until 2016, but returned to Melbourne in 2017. I am currently the Curatorial Project Officer, Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria, a role that involves working with the NGV Collection as well as contributing to the development of exhibitions of Australian and International contemporary art.
