Universities in Sydney, New South Wales
If you have your heart set on studying in Australia's bustling and largest city, your university options could be wider than you think. There are three large universities based in the city and surrounds, as well as smaller campuses of other Australian universities. You are only ever a short train, bus or ferry ride from the central business district, but living in such a large city, you will always find plenty of things to do and places to go wherever you choose to base yourself for your studies.
Sydney is in the state of New South Wales, which is one of the smaller states in terms of area, it is well connected throughout, so you might also consider studying at another university within the same state - The University of Newcastle is just a couple of hours from Sydney.
We recommend keeping an open mind about where in Australia you choose to study because Sydney can be expensive to live in. Air travel is a cheap and efficient method of transport in Australia, so you might also consider choosing a suitable programme at other universities in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart or Perth.
